Job Responsibilities:
The Engineer will be involved in the analysis, design, development, troubleshooting, debugging and maintenance of SumTotal LMS. He/She will be a part of the core development team and work closely with the other teams like QA etc. The broad areas of focus will be to design, implement and integrate customer requirements into the main product.
The Engineer must be able to work collaboratively with our offices across the globe and take enough initiative to solve a problem in his/her area of ownership and beyond.
Skills/Requirements :
1. Strong understanding of Internet and Intranet architecture
2. Exposure to design/implementation of application using n-tier architecture.
3. Experience in developing design documents and functional specifications from business requirements.
4. Strong proven experience in developing solutions with HTML tools, Javascript, Microsoft Technologies (ASP,.Net Technologies)
5. Exposure to SQL Server 2005/2000 and Oracle 9i/10g
6. Experience in database programming and building web applications with database connectivity
7. Ability to debug and work with unfamiliar code to fix root cause of problems that might be reported.
8. Ability to mentor junior developers on coding practices and audit based on coding guidelines.
9. Ability to contribute individually and work well with minimal supervision
10. Ability to work well with a team, work optimally under scheduled deadlines, and have passion for delivering high quality output
11. Good problem solving skills
12. Strong communication skills
