To meet these challenges, Amazon's Pricing team is looking for passionate and innovative software development engineers with a blend of technical and analytical skills who will work with other software engineers, project managers, product managers across different countries and cross-functional teams to help build out the next generation pricing architecture for Amazon.com worldwide.
Basic Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field
2. Computer Science fundamentals in object-oriented design
3. Computer Science fundamentals in data structures
4. Computer Science fundamentals in algorithm design, problem solving, and complexity analysis
5. Proficiency in, at least, one modern programming language such as C, C++, C#, Java, or Perl
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Masters degree in Computer Science or equivalent
2. Familiarity with statistical models and data mining algorithms
3. Experience with high throughput, 24x7 systems
4. Innovation and initiative to improve coding standards, test coverage, quality and automation
5. Scripting skills in Perl, Python, JavaScript, and/or Ruby
6. Experience taking a leading role in building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers
7. Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
8. Experience with distributed computing and enterprise-wide systems
9. Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior management to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
10. Hands-on expertise in many disparate technologies, typically ranging from front-end user interfaces through to back-end systems and all points in between
